De Gea says United were right to ditch Van Gaal
David De Gea has taken a swipe at Louis van Gaal by claiming Manchester United needed a coach like Jose Mourinho.
De Gea claims United were not good enough during van Gaal's two years
in charge, despite lifting the FA Cup last month.
The Spanish goalkeeper was not satisfied by United's fourth and fifth place finishes under the Dutchman when they are used to challenging and winning the Premier League title.

He claims Mourinho can bring back the glory days of Sir Alex Ferguson and hailed his appointment on a three-year deal.
In an interview with Spanish radio network Cadena Ser, De Gea said: "I came to United to win trophies and it's true that these last two years we have not been at the level this club deserves.

"But hopefully, with the change of coach, United will be back at the highest level."
De Gea claims he has not spoken to the Real Madrid players in the Spain squad about Mourinho because he already knows about the Portuguese's qualities.

He says the former Real, Chelsea, Porto and Inter Milan coach has the attributes United need in a manager.
"I haven't spoken to anyone," he said. "We already know enough about him.
"I think at United we needed a coach like him - a coach with personality and a winning coach.
